The Giant Problem
Here is the problem that students worked on in class. We talked about the meaning of a cubit and a handspan. We looked at these visuals. Students were to use a variety of materials to figure out what the giant measured. They did not use any standard measuring tools. Many of the students compared the giant's height to their own. See the pictures below which shows some of the groups ideas.
